My Summer

Before I tell you about my Summer I must ask where does the time go? I cannot believe it is the end of August. It was really funny, at the beginning of August Kimberly was driving me home from church I mentioned it was August already and she sounded surprised. She did not believe me and checked her phone to see and was shocked to find that I was right. We were both surprised at how fast the year had blew by. Before we know it it will be 2011. I think I have rambled on enough let get to my fun summer activities:

My Summer got off to a rocky start as I got let go of my job. I must admit I was angry and sad as it happened so sudden. But, I know that everything happens for a reason. I light of everything it freed me up to have the best Summer I have ever had. I spent the Summer hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and doing other fun activities. Hanging out with friends mostly consisted of seeing the top Summer movies. 'Eclipse' was my first Summer movie. I went to go see it with Kimberly and Katie as stated in my earlier entry. 'Despicable Me' I saw with my friends Katie and Hannah. I tried so hard to wait until it was in the Dollar Theater but I couldn't wait. It was so cute I couldn't help but cry. 'Dinner with Schmucks' I saw with Katie, it wasn't as funny as I thought but it had its good moments. I was not planning on seeing 'Step Up 3', but as soon as I found out it had some dancers from 'So You Think You Can Dance' I had to see it. I saw it with Hannah and Katie. Poor Katie I'm surprised that she isn't sick of me yet:) 'The Other Guys' I saw with Karina it was the best and funniest movie of the Summer. I found a new love for a T.V. show 'The Office' it is so hilarious. The Summer does have its downfalls as my favorite T.V. shows are on rerun:(. But, on the other hand when it is Summer then that means the return of my favorite reality show 'So You Think You Can Dance' this season was the best season they have had with so many great dancers and great routines. This season they tried something different where they invited dancers from previous seasons to pair with with the new dancers. I like it it was nice to see some of my favorite dancers come back. Also this Summer I have done something that I never thought I would do in a million years: teach Sunday School for church and this Summer I was called to be a Gospel Principles teacher. I was grateful for the calling as I hope that it was give me a chance to come out of me shell a little. Everyone says that I am doing a good job and it puts me more a ease now when I teach. This Summer has been awesome weather wise. It has only been starting to get hot this week. My Summer has started winding down these past couple of weeks as my friends has gone back to school. It was a great Summer and I was glad that I was able to spend some time with my friends. My birthday is coming up and I have a lot of cool things planned I want this one to be special since it's a special number 25!! So I will write about that next time.

Newport Beach

Monday's are beach days for Katie and her friends we went to Newport beach. I had been to Newport beach before but this beach is up north close to Laguna beach. Emily had been there last Monday and said that is was so nice so went all went there instead of Seal Beach. It was such a beautiful beach with tide pools for the kids and great surroundings of houses and rocks. It was overcast when we got there so it was nice and cool, so most of the kids had fun playing in the tide pools. It was not crowded at all when we arrived so that was nice and we were able to get a nice spot closer to the water. Everyone had a good time and even though it was overcast it still did not stop me from getting sun burned. We are planning to go there next week too.

Mallory had a good time, she was so good
Kaleigh and Jennica enjoying the waves

"Eclipse"

After almost a year of anticipation I got to see "Eclipse" this morning with my friends Kim and Katie I had so much fun. I loved this movie a lot and I thought it was way better then the other two. The action in this one was great with so many great stunts and special effects. I enjoyed the back stories of 'Rosalie' and 'Jasper', I was interested at how they were going to portray it. It was also good to see 'Bella' have time with them something different. Of course I love all the scenes with Cullen family especially 'Alice' she is my favorite character and the ones with the wolf pack were not bad either. It was nice to see 'Jasper' speak more, usually he is quiet and trying not to kill people :) In the book we do not get to see much of what is happening with the creating of the newborns and the fight scene with the wolves and vampires. It was great to be able to see that and how it all played out. Even though I like 'Bella' and 'Edward' together I felt bad for 'Jacob'. My favorite scenes: when they learned how to fight, the battle, and the tent scene. Some of my favorite performances: Ashley Greene is perfect for 'Alice' and her leap over the wolf to get to the newborn was awesome. Anna Kendrick again stole the scenes in everyone that she was in she is such a great actress. I loved the Volturi members were great especially Dakota Fanning she how to bring on the creepy. Xavier Samuel and Jodelle Ferland were great as 'Riley' and 'Bree'. I was really glad that I read that book about Bree before I watched to movie. Bryce was good as 'Victoria' her stunts were good and the end where she meets 'Bella' and 'Edward' she did good there too. So, if I get the chance to see this movie again I will definitely go see it again :)
Kim and I got our tickets yesterday
At 1 in the afternoon people were already lined up for the midnight showingKim, Me and Katie today after the movie

Pool Party!

Well summer has officially begun and it is that time again for going to the beach and doing some other fun activities too. This summer Katie and a few other people planned some fun activities for their kids to do. Monday's are beach days and Thursday's we will be doing a different activity every week. This Thursday we had a pool party at the Jackman home (I love the Jackman family) and it was a lot of fun. The kids had a great time swimming and some of us were having fun sitting around talking and eating pizza :) I did not spend that much time in water (I did not have a suit) so I did what I do best: take pictures and helped with the kids. Some moms had newborn babies so I was pretty content for the afternoon. It turned out to be a good day and a great start to a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to the rest of the activities and for the opportunity for making new friends. Here is to a great summer!

"The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner"

We first were introduced to Bree in "Eclipse" the third installment of the Twilight series. "Eclipse" as we know is told through Bella's experiences and we do not get introduced to Bree until the end where she is killed. Stephenie Meyer's new book "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" is a spin off to "Eclipse" and we get the inside look of Bree and the other New Born vampires. The story was told through Bree's eyes and her experiences she went though with the New Born vamps. Reading this story you feel bad for Bree. She was confused about why she was turned into a vampire and did not know what her purpose was. I felt bad for her because in the end she was not given the chance to live. She did not want to fight she was only there to find the person that she loved and and leave. I was really glad that I had the opportunity to read this book and to get a sense of what it was like from someones different point of view. I am really looking forward to seeing how the character is going to be in the movie. Speaking of..... I am getting really excited for "Eclipse" I cannot wait to see everything and how they put it together. I seems really good from the trailers that are coming out and I cannot wait.

Disneyland!!

Kimberly and I went to Disneyland yesterday :) and as always we had a good time.

California Adventure we visited first since it closed early. We headed over to Soarin' Over California it is the first ride that we always come upon. Then headed over to one of my favorite rides Toy Story Mania where Kimberly won again, I do not blame myself I had a faulty gun LOL! I tried a few new rides that I have been wanting to go on: Mickey's Fun Wheel and Mulholland Madness. The Ferris wheel was fun it went up really high, but after a few times around I was kind of over it. Kimberly and I screamed on the madness mini coaster, it was not a big coaster it was a bit rough and we were getting tossed around I was not expecting for it to be that fast. After we headed into towards the entrance and ate lunch at the Taste Pilots Grill.

Disneyland, one of may favorite places in the whole wide world, no matter how many time I go I am still excited when I find out I'm going. I do not remember the order of the rides we went on but I will try my best. We started with Space Mountain and I did not scream as loud as I thought I would. After I felt queasy, I guess we should have waited until our food went down. We saw Captain EO for the first time in a long time and I did not remember any of it so I guess it was like seeing it for the first time. The only thing new was that the floor moved, it was cool at first but they went over board with it and that made me more queasy. We went on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Balst ride and did not win that one either, not blaming the gun but myself I just not that into it. We headed over to It's a Small World which Kimberly was not that excited about. We went onward to Toon Town to go on the Roger Rabbit ride I love that one. When we got out of the ride it looked like it was going to rain so I wanted to go on Big Thunder Mountain since it was an outdoor ride. On the way there we went on the Tea Cups and we went were fast I love that one too! We made it to Big Thunder Mountain it rained but not that much. We ended up going on Big Thunder three times thought the day. It was weird because every time we went on we got the gate number 7 and one the third time we got train number 7. Anyone want to play the Lotto!! LOL. We also went on Pirates which we rode twice and walked on both times and went on the Haunted Mansion. Indiana Jones is always one of the more popular ride but yesterday I was surprised the wait was only 10 minutes and we also went on this one a second time throughout the day, I got to drive the second time which was fun. We had some down time too to rest up I love there popcorn so Kimberly and I rested and ate some popcorn and fed the ducks. After we were done we did Fantasyland and did every thing except for Mr Toads Wild ride and Perter Pan which were long waits. After that it was staring to get late and we want to rest again so we went to go get some ice-cream and it was really good. After we finished resting I wanted to go on Big Thunder again it is one of my favorite rides there (this is the third time we rode it). It was getting dark so the tunnels we go thought were dark and Kimberly got scared and screamed. We got off and we were hungry so we ate at the Mexican Restaurant next door. We had planned on going home after eating but I wanted to go on Big Thunder for the forth time but as we were waiting in line it broke down so we ended up going home. We took our time walking because we were tired and our feet hurt and made it to the tram. When I got home I was exhausted I had my mom give me a foot and back massage I watch T.V for a while and fell asleep. I was too tired to get up and wash my face and brush my teeth. Even thought I was so tired I had a great time. I cannot wait to go back :)

Family Visit

We have had company for the past two weeks from Guadalajara Mexico. We were very excited to have them stay with us. Betty's(who lives with us) daughter, son-in-law, and gran kids came for a Quinceanera. I consider them family. Karla and her two kids(Jacky5 and Alexandra 13 months) came first last Friday and stayed with her dad for the weekend. They made it to our house Sunday night the 21st and stayed in my room for their visit. I was not able to see the kids because they were already asleep but I helped Karla get situated and let her know where everything was. I was able to be home for their first day here which was nice because Betty had to work and I felt bad leaving them by themselves. I was able to see the kids then and they were so cute it was fun playing with them. I felt bad because I was not able to communicate with Jacky because she only spoke Spanish. Jacky one night got upset because she was not able to talk to me or my mom in English. For the rest of the week Karla went shopping buying clothes for her and the kids. She also had to find a dress for the party but she could not find shoes so she got them the day of the Quinceanera. We celebrated Betty's birthday and I was happy that Karla was able to be here and her moms birthday. Karla's husband Carlos got in the Thursday so they stayed at their dads again because he lives five minutes from the airport and I was able to stay in my room for the night :). They went to California Adventure the next day to surprise Jacky with a breakfast with the princesses she really loved it. Then came the party and it was a mad house over here with everyone getting ready for the party. But we have a good time at the dinner and dancing I actually got up and danced with was fun. They were suppose to go to Disneyland they next day but Jacky did not want to go she was so tired from the night before so they ended up going on Friday. They have a very busy week this week, they went to Sea World, Disneyland, and Karla wanted to visit some of her family. Today was a quite day and we went for lunch except for Jacky she wanted to stay because her cousins were coloring Easter eggs. They just left for the airport and it was sad to see them leave and I am glad that they had a good time. I cannot wait for them to come again.
