Birthday Dinner

  I had my birthday dinner with my friends from church at the beginning of the month.  Saturday's for me were busy so I had to plan it on a Friday.  I only had four people come which I understood cause of work and we had issues with communication.  I still had a good time with my friends and the best part of the dinner was the cake :)  I decided to get a cake from Costco this year and it was all chocolate and it was so good.  I was so grateful to the people who did come, thanks to Karina, Kimberly, Stephanie and Jillian.  Since my cake was a half sheet there was a lot of left overs and my mom and I didn't mind finishing it up, it just took us over a week :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

  Today is my birthday and to celebrate I went to Disneyland with Kimberly and had so much fun. Our day started off a little late, Kimberly had to work late the night before so we got to the park around 12:30.  We went into California Adventure since it closed earlier and decided to eat lunch and then went on our first ride Soarin' Over California, such a great relaxing ride.  We went over to my favorite ride Toy Story Mania and even tough I did better this time I still didn't win.  I wanted to check out Cars Land since I've never been and one of the rides were shut down.  Kimberly and I went on the tire ride I forget the name and one of the other ride they have there too.  After spending 3 hours in California Adventure we headed over to Disneyland and while on our way out we stopped to get my a Happy Birthday pin.  For the rest of the day I felt really special because everyone was wishing me a Happy Birthday.  I was really bummed that Big Thunder Mountain was closed.  Before we went on any rides we got some ice cream on Main Street, it was yummy :)  I wanted to go on Pirates of Caribbean first and we got fast passes for Indiana Jones along the way and headed over there after Pirates.  After that I can't remember what order we did things but I will try my best. The rest of the rides we went on we really fun.  We went on the Haunted Mansion, the only thing we did in Fantasy Land was the Tea Cups and that was my favorite, we got a really good spin going and when the ride stopped everything around me started spinning.  We did the Matterhorn and I got a few bruises on my arm from it but it still was a fun ride and after went on It's A Small World After All.  We went walked over to Toon Town for the Roger Rabbit ride, but it was closed for the fireworks and walked over to Asteroid Blasters and I won!!!! :) We went over to Space Mountain but the wait time was 60 minutes and they weren't doing fast passes anymore, so we decided not to ride it.  We got something to eat and went on Pirates of the Caribbean again, did some shopping and went home.  Thank you to Brandon and Kimberly for a great birthday.  I had such a good time and I've got some more celebrating to do with family and friends.

Summer Brings Family :)

   For the month of July we have had some visitors.  Karla, Jacky, and Alexsandra paid us a visit and stayed for the whole month.  They did the normal Disneyland over the 4th of July weekend, Sea World, Universal Studios, and did some shopping.  We celebrated Jacky's 8th early at Chuck E Cheese and it was really fun.  Carlos joined them on their last week here and he and Karla went to Las Vegas and they had a good time.  Today they left and it was so emotional for me, my mom, and especially Betty.  I really enjoyed having them here and I loved spending time with the girls.  I hope that they had a good time too.  Hopefully they'll come next summer.

 At Chuck E Cheese they have a sketch booth. The booth will take your picture and make a sketch of it.  So we took two pictures each so we could have our own :)   

 

  

Turkey Gate Update #1

  Yesterday marked the six month anniversary of when I dropped the frozen turkey on my toe.  The healing process is going very well and feels like it's taking forever.  Now, it only hurts when I mess with the toe too much or on it for a long time and the nail is growing in nicely.  I'm going to share some pics with you, you've been warned their not pretty to look at.

Month 1 February: I still had some swelling and pain but felt a lot better

 Month 2 March: It's starting to look like a toe again rather than a mushroom :)

 Month 3 April: The old nail started to get thick and new nail started to grow through.

 Month 4 May: Feeling a little better and the nail is growing in nicely

 Month 5 June: Love the new nail that's coming through.  Got a pedicure for the first time. 

 Month 6 July: Lookn' great.

The L.A Zoo

  Today my mom and I spent the day at the L.A Zoo with my Uncle Joe and Ernie.  My Uncle Joe and Ernie came down from Oregon for a visit.  We thought we were going to just meet them for dinner and my Uncle suggested going to the zoo, I had no objections :).  We spent the day walking around looking at the different animals and reptiles and some of the animals were asleep when we got to there exhibit.  We had a good time spending time with each other and getting caught up with them and seeing how the other members of the family are doing.  I'm really excited for next year for another family reunion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

"The Host"

  Today Kimberly and I saw 'The Host" and I thought it was really good.  I got really excited to see the movie after reading the book.  I thought everyone did a good job on the movie.  I liked how they stayed true to the book, but added some action scenes.  I cried at the same point of the movie as I did in the book.  I hope I can stay patient while I wait anxiously until Stephenie Meyers next book of the series comes out.

 

 

A Day Out!

  A few weeks ago I got to spend the day with Katie and the kids.  I have not seen them in a while and it was good to see them again.  It was nice to get caught up with Katie and I cannot believe how much the kids have grown , but I guess that's what kids do.  Katie and Randy had their fourth child, a boy named Cole, and it was so nice getting to hold him and see him.  I had a good day spending time with them.
