Family Visit

We have had company for the past two weeks from Guadalajara Mexico. We were very excited to have them stay with us. Betty's(who lives with us) daughter, son-in-law, and gran kids came for a Quinceanera. I consider them family. Karla and her two kids(Jacky5 and Alexandra 13 months) came first last Friday and stayed with her dad for the weekend. They made it to our house Sunday night the 21st and stayed in my room for their visit. I was not able to see the kids because they were already asleep but I helped Karla get situated and let her know where everything was. I was able to be home for their first day here which was nice because Betty had to work and I felt bad leaving them by themselves. I was able to see the kids then and they were so cute it was fun playing with them. I felt bad because I was not able to communicate with Jacky because she only spoke Spanish. Jacky one night got upset because she was not able to talk to me or my mom in English. For the rest of the week Karla went shopping buying clothes for her and the kids. She also had to find a dress for the party but she could not find shoes so she got them the day of the Quinceanera. We celebrated Betty's birthday and I was happy that Karla was able to be here and her moms birthday. Karla's husband Carlos got in the Thursday so they stayed at their dads again because he lives five minutes from the airport and I was able to stay in my room for the night :). They went to California Adventure the next day to surprise Jacky with a breakfast with the princesses she really loved it. Then came the party and it was a mad house over here with everyone getting ready for the party. But we have a good time at the dinner and dancing I actually got up and danced with was fun. They were suppose to go to Disneyland they next day but Jacky did not want to go she was so tired from the night before so they ended up going on Friday. They have a very busy week this week, they went to Sea World, Disneyland, and Karla wanted to visit some of her family. Today was a quite day and we went for lunch except for Jacky she wanted to stay because her cousins were coloring Easter eggs. They just left for the airport and it was sad to see them leave and I am glad that they had a good time. I cannot wait for them to come again.

Mallory Kay Jackman

Yesterday after work I went to go visit my friend Katie and her family. She recently had her third child a girl a couple of months ago and I finally got to meet her. Katie and I have been friends for three years when we went to the same family ward for a short period of time. I helped her with her second daughter Delaney (who she gave birth to a couple of months after they started going to my home ward) in Primary where we both served. I also helped her with the kids while they were moving into a new house. They are such a great family and I love them very much and Katie is one of the kindest people I have ever met. When I saw Mallory I fell head over heels for her. She is the most adorable baby I had ever laid my eyes on and she reminded me a lot of Maddie when she was a baby. Mallory is so good and very content I would hold her forever if I could.

A couple weeks later I got to see one of my favorite families again :) Katie's second daughter was turning 3 and she was having a birthday party. So I offered to come and spend the day with them helping out where ever I could. We spent the day running around and going shopping with the kids. I had fun and I was glad to spend that time with them and spend some time bonding with Mallory. I am sure that Katie was grateful for the help. It is December now, I thought I would add this part in and to share some more pics below that I just had to share. I cannot believe that she will be 1 at the end of this month.

My New Toy!!

Since I am working now I decided to get myself a little gift to congratulate myself on getting a job. I have been into electronics stuff lately and decided I wanted to get myself a Flip Video camera a few weeks ago. My mom forward me on an an add from Wal Mart, they had a deal for a Flip Video Camera for $149.00 with two free accessories. I thought it was a great deal considering the cheapest that I saw for it was $157 and saved on shipping by using the site store. So, I decided what the heck I'll get it at least I can afford it :) I haven't used it yet and when I do I am hoping it will be easy to put on my blog.

So here it is my new toy I like it a lot:

Christmas, New Years and..... a Job!!

My first post for the year 2010. I cannot believe how fast 2009 flew by and that it is already February. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Years, my mom and I had a great holiday. I was so excited for Christmas I was actually woke up at 3 a.m and could not go back to sleep, I had to get up and look at my loot and scored big. For dinner we went to a family friends house Bob and Linda. We had a great time eating and playing their wii, it was very nice of them to ask us over. My mom was very happy that I wanted to go, since my dad died we have not really been going anywhere. For New Years we stayed at home which we normally do and I got to watch an all day marathon of the 'Three Stooges' I love them. My mom and I never make it to midnight and we always wake up to fireworks and gun noises.

But the most exciting part is I have a job YAY!!! I am babysitting a very beautiful 2 and a half month old and it is going great. I have been doing this for a week now and really enjoying it. A lady that is working with my mom her daughter is working and going to school so my mom volunteered me to babysit. The daughter is going to try to go to school and work full time for 2 months and see how it works out. So I am grateful for the opportunity to work, help out around the house more, and not bug my mom for money.

Pinks and The Grove

This afternoon my friend and I got to eat at Pinks for the first time so in honor of them I am writing in pink :). Eating at Pinks was something that I have been wanting to do for a while but just didn't have the time to go. Pinks is a famous place for hot dogs a lot of famous people go to eat there and it has been on the food and travel channel for the best places to eat. Karina and I were so excited when we planned to eat there and it did not disappoint. We got there late afternoon and the line was not long at all, we probably waited 10-15 minutes in line. We got lucky because since it is so famous the line can be long. We got our food and we got a table inside, the room is small so there weren't a lot of tables inside there were also tables set up outside as well . As always I have pictures:

This is the line when we got there
InsideOur food. Hungry yet ?!?! LOL Karina enjoyed itand I did too
After we were done eating and talking pictures we decided to head over to the Grove of Los Angeles a shopping center and it was really nice. It was only 4 minutes away from Pinks and I always see that shopping center on TMZ a paparazzi show that shows celebrities. We were hoping to see some celebrities but had no suchluck but we had fun none the less. It was pretty it was decorated for Chritmas. We were not able to stay that long it was getting late and we wanted to beat the traffic. We had a great day and at least we can say now that we have been and will be going back soon. So here are some pictures:

"New Moon"

Last night Kimberly and I went to the midnight showing of "New Moon". Kimberly's birthday is tomorrow so I thought that this would be a great birthday present for her and it was my first midnight showing. I bought the tickets in October to make sure that we were set with seats. Earlier in the evening she had a birthday dinner with family and friends and it was fun.

Around 8:00 Kimberly and I went to the theater and there were a lot of people in line already and we had to go to the back of the line which was behind the theater. We waited in line for a couple of hours having fun talking to each other and other people. They started bringing in people little by little and we were stuck in one spot for an hour.

Finally, around 10:30 they started bringing people in and sent us to the next available theater which stunk because since I bought my tickets early I was in the big theater. But it all worked out we got good seats.

By the time the movie was suppose to start at 12:01 people were still lined up outside waiting to get in. The movie finally started and it was good it was way better than "Twilight". The wolf transformations were awesome and everyone was so much better in this one than the first one. I loved Taylor Lautner he was great everyone broke out into applause and cheers whenever he was shirtless, it was so funny. I enjoyed watching the scenes with Anna Kendrick and Michael Welch they were funny. I loved all the new comers in the Volturi and wolf groups. All the Volturi members did a great job. Dakota Fanning she is one of my favorite actresses and she played "Jane" very well, she was really creepy. Micheal Sheen was really creepy as "Aro". Kim and I were tired and we kept laughing at the stuff that was not funny. My favorite scenes were with Rachelle Lafevre as "Victoria" even though she did not have any lines she did and awesome job playing through her emotions and her stunts weren't bad either. I am sad that she won't be able to complete her role as "Victoria" she was perfect for the role and no one will be able to do a good of a job as she did. I wish Rachelle nothing but the best and I know that she is going to go far in her career. But I will give Bryce Dallas Howard the benefit of the doubt. I loved what the director did with this movie and I hope that he will get to direct "Breaking Dawn". But until then I cannot wait to see "Eclipse" it was my favorite book of the series and I am really excited to see how they are going to portray everything.

Greenway Trail

Earlier this morning I went walking on the Greenway Trail with a few of my friends from church. We were hoping for a bigger group but some of my friends decided not to go. The trail runs five miles from Whittier to Pico Rivera or vice versa depending on which way you start. The trail was built two years ago to replace the abandoned railroad tracks. I always see the trail on my way to church but never walked it until now. Karina and I started at the Whittier end and began our five mile walk to Pico. Another friend of ours from church met with us half way up the trail. The trail was really pretty and I must say it is a great workout. It took us close to two hours to finish it. I would love to walk it again and hopefully we will have a bigger group next time. Here are some pictures throughout the trail:

This isn't the beginning I wanted to start off with a picture of the Greenway Trail sign

The trail took us through the bridge over five points. When you come to five point section in Whittier there are five different areas that you can go.
